December update

Hi everyone! Can you believe 2010 is almost over?! Hopefully you have gotten started on your Christmas shopping :)

We just wanted to let you know how things have been going with our first album called “Jooma Jam” (Vol. 1) since we’ve been getting asked about when the album will be released. I know, we’re really excited too!

So here’s the lowdown:

1. Our testing process is finally done! Thank you GK-Poveda in Taguig, UP-CRAdLe and Project 4′s Public Library and Kalantiao Elementary School for being part of the last leg of testing. What does this mean? It means we are now in data collation and analysis – we’ll be finding out if any of our songs need revisions or changes, be it in lyrics or melody.

2. Our Teacher and Parent Manual is also in full swing! The album will be released with its own manual that outlines learning activities, chords, lyrics and a lot of other cool things. Our hope is that it will be able to make the teaching workload easier as teachers make their lesson plans; a quick glance at the manual should spark ideas about what they can do in the classroom! :)

3. Aside from the album and manual, we’re also developing a training module for the chosen recipients of Jooma Jam. This is in conjunction with the UP Child Development Center, through Mrs. Estrellita “Yangky” Agustin. This is a means to help develop classroom teaching skills with music as the medium.

So what’s next? We’re looking forward to recording in the studio and finally getting all the great music ready for all of you! We’ll be working closely with Shinji Tanaka of Sound Creation studio for that. Coincidentally, he also plays drums for Gaijin. (Just a little trivia for you folks out there)

We’d like to extend our thanks and gratitude to all of you for all the support  (and patience!) you have extended us all this time. This is only the beginning as we invest in the way our children listen to and experience music; we look forward to helping raise up a new generation of listeners and Philippine leaders!

Maraming, maraming salamat :)
