The country’s biggest art fair,   MANILART, happens next week! Now on its 3rd year, MANILART promises to showcase some of the country’s mostexciting art galleries, painters and sculptors!

This year, MANILART returns to its original home at the NBC Tent and will run from August 24 – 27, 2011.

They have graciously invited RepubLIKHA to take part this year via a story-telling session with ME! Oh my gosh. I hope not to disappoint! I will be reading from the children’s book “The Rocking Horse”.

Preschool children from the neighboring Gawad Kalinga community will also be on-site to listen to the story as well as have the opportunity to experience some of the best art in the Philippines. Thank you so much to the organizers of MANILART, notably Delan Robillos, who has really made this year’s event truly accessible and dynamic. Written by Becky Bravo, The Rocking Horse also features artwork by the exceptional Elmer Borlongan, whose work appears as the face of MANILART. His work is also the featured photo on this entry.

Over-all the event promises to be an exciting way for everyone to discover what is going on in the art industry of our country. Hope you can make it!
